I'm having a "FIT" but don't be scared - there is no foot stomping, hair pulling, or crying going on with this "FIT" - I'm just reflecting on my progress with my 2010 WOTY, which is... FITness!
I have to say that I am proud, pleased, and pleasantly surprised by the progress I am making. Still not perfect, still working on it, but I am giving myself a pat on the back for being focused, for doing a good job, and for continuing to move forward with my goals to improve.
One big accomplishment in January in being more financially "FIT" is how well B and I are doing creating weekly meal plans and then sticking to them. We can eat at home more - saving money in the process and hopefully eating a tad bit healthier - and after a month of really planning and persevering, it's almost easy (I said almost people, almost!).
Another goal where I have felt successful is having a home environment that is more "FIT." I have brainstormed a list of all the possible chores/tasks that come with owning a home and am in the process of catagorizing those chores/tasks into a schedule that doesn't overwhelm me. This way I don't always have to be like She-Ra and move mountains to get my home in order. A really big step for me in this area has been sorting through and finding new homes for many, many, many of the books I own.
And my final "FIT" reflection for today relates to my marriage and the incredible relationship upon which B&K is built. Brian and I have an amazing marriage! We have the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time together, which I LOVE! We work to have an incredibly strong relationship that is built on love, support, understanding, and communication (with just moments of irritation!). I am so grateful that Brian and I spend time together, that we talk about everything, that we are spiritually strong - individually and as a couple - and that each day our marriage becomes even more "FIT" than it was the day before.
So, I'm chalking January up to a month of great "FITness" and I'm moving into February with continued great expectations for myself and the "FITness" I will continue to accomplish.

To Jenny, Christi, and April
Jenny, Christi, & April...
I have finished your Word Of The Year (WOTY) reminder cards and have posted them here. You will also be getting a 4x6 framed version AND a wallet-sized version for... your wallet!
One more thing, here are my thoughts on your WOTY choices:
I think you are a "ROCKIN" group of girls...
...who have more "PATIENCE" than you might realize...
...who do an incredible job of keeping "BALANCE" in your lives...
...and who help me improve my "FITNESS" daily...
Thanks for sharing your 2010 Word of the Year.

Word Of The Year Winner(s)!
Okay, so in looking at the responses to my challenge, I figured why just choose ONE winner when all 3 responses are good ones.
So, I am going to do WOTY reminder cards for all 3 of my peeps who came up with their own WOTY and told me what it is they are striving to accomplish during this year.
Here's what I need from Jenny (who's ROCKIN' this year), Christi (who's growing in PATIENCE), and April (who's on her way to being BALANCED)...
- Some color choices
- Size preference = 6x4 or 5x7
Thanks for participating in my challenge, and thanks for checking in on me and for keeping me honest with myself! Now I propose that we all continue to support each other in our efforts to accomplish the goals we have set with our 2010 WOTY.

My "word" - it's my 100th post! (plus a giveaway)
A New Year...a New Layout... a New Word... AND I have made it to my 100th post! Who knew I'd blog enough to make it to 100!
Reaching this "milestone" number in blogland means I've been around longer than I thought, sharing more than anyone probably really ever wanted to know about the ordinary adventures of the extraordinary B&K - and what fun it has been every step of the way!
So, with a New Year (and a New Layout) comes my New Word for this year. It's a word that in my personal dictionary means living each day with meaning and purpose, and it is the word I am using in 2010 to help me focus on achieving the goals I have set for myself...
This year I want to "be fit" in many areas of my life and will be working to improve my personal fitness, mental fitness, spiritual fitness, marriage fitness, home fitness, family fitness, professional fitness, and of course, my physical fitness.
One of the things I will be doing to improve my "personal fitness" is journaling more often, and so I plan to record here (aka: "journal") the experiences I have as I work toward better fitness in all areas of my life.
To help myself remember my focus throughout the year, I am printing the lovely little reminder above as a 5X7 print and framing it for my dresser, plus I am printing out some wallet-sized copies as well - 1 for my wallet and 1 for my desk at work.
And now... just for fun (and since "everyone else is doing it")... a giveaway to celebrate this 100th post milestone in my blogging life.
What do I have to offer? How about your own "Word of the Year" reminder to help you stay focused on your goals this year. You pick your word, and I'll come up with a framed reminder just for you (frame size to be discussed).
Leave me a comment and let me know what your 2010 Word of the Year is and what the word means to you. I'll number all comments by the order they are posted and then B will close his eyes, reach into a bucket, and randomly choose one of those numbers (high-tech drawing technique over here!). Drawing will occur this coming Saturday (January 9).
As we move forward into a new year, here's to 100 more posts highlighting the continued adventures (no matter how ordinary or extraordinary they may be) in the lives of B&K! Thanks for following along!
